Magnesium bisglycinate in Australia: same as glycinate?
Yes. PubChem lists magnesium bisglycinate among the names for its magnesium glycinate compound. The name alone does not tell you how much elemental magnesium is in a retail product or whether it also contains another form.

What “bis” describes
PubChem’s magnesium glycinate record describes a compound with two glycinate parts for one magnesium ion. Its synonym list includes magnesium bisglycinate and magnesium diglycinate. Those names refer to the same chemical identity in the database. A supplement label may use any of them.
Why the front number is different
A label may print the weight of the magnesium compound and a smaller “equivalent magnesium” figure. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements explains that elemental magnesium is the magnesium amount, rather than the weight of the whole compound. Our cost calculation uses the stated elemental figure only.
Why the complete ingredient list still matters
A product can pair glycinate with citrate, oxide or another magnesium form. If it does, the total elemental amount is not a glycinate-only amount. We mark verified combinations as blends and list their component forms in the product record. The comparison unit is a label-reading unit, not a suggested intake.
Exact label wording
Listings that explicitly say bisglycinate.
This narrow table includes only source entries in our current dataset whose checked panel or composition says “bisglycinate”. The broader glycinate comparison includes labels using the other names as well.

Blue marks the lowest unrounded cost in this view, not a health recommendation. Bars use a 500 mg display scale, not an intake target. “≈” carries the brand’s approximate elemental amount into the calculated cost. Prices may change.
